Berens River Student Services will be travelling to Berens River Tuesday afternoon on September 29 to take part in a community Truth and Reconciliation Day hosted by Berens River Prevention on September 30.

The day will provide an opportunity for community members to come together, remember those who were affected by the residential school system, and participate in activities that bring people together in a spirit of learning, remembrance and community.

Following the community breakfast Wednesday morning, participants will gather for a walk from the Health Centre to the Band Office. The walk will provide an opportunity for community members to come together and reflect on the experiences of residential school survivors, their families and those who were lost.

The Truth and Reconciliation Day activities are an opportunity for the community to honour the past while coming together to build connections, share in cultural activities and support one another.
