About our murals
Since moving into our new location at 1-225 McPhillips Street last fall, we wanted to make the space truly our own by incorporating artwork that reflects our values, teachings, and vision. We invited artist Heather Sinclair to bring several pieces we had envisioned to life.
The first piece represents the Seven Teachings: humility, courage, respect, love, honesty, truth, and wisdom. These teachings help guide us throughout our lives, and we wanted this piece to serve as a meaningful reminder to both our staff and visitors of the importance of carrying these teachings with us.

The second piece was inspired by our Vision Statement, which upholds the belief that “together” we help and support one another – Ma-Mow-Wi-Chi-I-Ti-Tah – and that as a First Nation, we continue to “look to the future” –I-Nah-Pi-Tah-Ne-Kan. We envisioned Elders passing their teachings to children, representing the importance of sharing knowledge, culture, and wisdom between generations.

The final piece celebrates graduation and the accomplishments of those who have reached an important milestone in their educational journey. Heather did and incredible job capturing the meaning and vison behind each piece. We sincerely thank her for her talent, dedication, and impressive work in bringing our vision to life and making our new space feel truly special.
